Impressions of tart pink starburst, green strawberry and floral hibiscus. Finishing tart with a balanced dryness and bright effervescence

    Saison brewed with Pilsner, wheat and Oats. Hopped with lots of Saaz and steeped on house processed dehydrated Curacao oranges and pink peppercorns. Fermented with Saison yeast. Made in collaboration with our friends and Mabel Gray in Hazel Park. Notes of bright and fruity fresh cracked pepper, banana marmalade and freshly cut oranges.

    Opaque black color but is deceptively light bodied and easy drinking. This style is very clean with nuanced hints of caramel and light wafts of coffee and chocolate on the nose. Expect moderately high carb and a smooth mouthfeel with no harshness despite the use of dark roasted malts. Once upon a time we did our very first Kickstarter crowdfunding event with Tim and the crew at Plato. We’ve known them almost a decade now (!) and through mutual respect, admiration and harmonious attraction, we’ve become great friends. 🙂

    We brew this beer with only the fresh harvest Riwaka we get from Crosby Hops. Riwaka is a delightful hop with a profile of bright and punchy passion fruit, resinous creamsicle and fresh cut wild herbs. Double Riwaka is double dry hopped with Citra, Citra Lupomax, Simcoe and New Zealand Riwaka.
